Envisioning an inclusive school that welcomed students from across the globe, Chester and Nora Stemp founded the International School of San Salvador in 1979. Since that time, CISS has become one of the premier private, educational institutions in San Salvador as well as in Central America.
CISS offers a Kinder through 12th grade academic program that is modeled after the U.S. educational system and incorporates the curriculum offered through the Salvadoran Ministry of Education.
After over 40 years of service, Mr. Stemp retired from CISS in August, 2019. Under new leadership, the school maintains a consistent focus on high academic standards and the maintenance of an inclusive school community that values diversity.
